2017 Audi MLS Cup: 2.3 million viewers (-45%) on Fox, Univision and TSN (USA+Canada) watch the final

The 2017 Audi MLS Cup final, Toronto FC - Seattle Sounders FC (2-0), at BMO Field (30,000 capacity) in Toronto, Canada, drew an average of 1.1 million viewers in the United States on 09/12/2017 (kick-off at 16:00 local time, 22:00 CET). This score represented a 45% decrease in audience compared to the 2016 edition (which was available on a free-TV channel).

The English-language broadcaster ESPN (pay-TV) drew an average TV audience of 803,000 viewers during the 2017 MLS Cup, compared to 1.411 million on Fox (free-TV) in 2016 (-43%), but 20% more than on ESPN in 2015 (668,000). The UniMás and Univision Deportes (pay-TV) Spanish-language channels drew 304,000 subscribers, 49% less than in 2016 (601,000 subscribers) and 40% less than in 2015 (506,000).

The MLS Cup 2017 also drew an average of 1.3 million viewers in Canada on the English-language channel TSN, compared to 1.43 million in 2016 (-9%). 3.4 million Canadians watched part of the 2017 MLS Cup final on TSN. The audience figures of the French-language channel RDS were not communicated.
