Euro 2016: "The Stade Velodrome will be wonderful when it is finished" (Michel Platini, UEFA)

"The Stade Velodrome is really beautiful, especially with this wonderful roof that I have rarely seen in other stadiums. Congratulations to the city of Marseille. It will be beautiful when it is finished," said Michel Platini, president of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations), during the steering committee meeting in Marseille for Euro 2016 17/10/2013.

The Stade Velodrome is one of the 10 stadiums that will host 51 matches at Euro 2016 (from 10/06 to 10/07/2016).

Taking place in Marseille, it is the fourth meeting of the body which is organising Euro 2016 and which brings together UEFA, the FFF (French Football Federation), the French government, and the host cities. The committee is chaired by Jacques Lambert, president of Euro 2016 SAS, which is predominantly owned by UEFA (95%) and FFF (5%) and is in charge of organising the event.
