MTN Irancell, an Iranian joint venture between MTN, a South African telecommunications group (49%) and the Iran Electronic Development Company (51%), has become a media partner of LaLiga in Iran, on 12/12/2017. As part of the agreement, Laliga and MTN will collaborate to produce and distribute exclusive content.

"This agreement amplifies further the global recognition of LaLiga brand all around the world and help us to connect and engage further with our millions of fans in Iran in very innovative way," said Javier Gomez, corporate managing director of LaLiga on 14/12/2017 .

The agreement does not concern broadcast rights. The pay-TV group beIN Media Group is the holder of the audiovisual rights of LaLiga in Iran for 2017-18, according to documentation from the Spanish league.
