"The partnership between Chevrolet and Manchester United was obvious and did not require much thought," said Joel Ewanick, the former marketing director of General Motors, which owns Chevrolet group, on the 16/10/2013. Joel Ewanick worked directly on the signing of a partnership between the American car brand and the English club for a total of $559 million, €408 million for the period 2014-2021.

The sponsorship deal, which represents an allocation of €51 million for the 2014/15 season, will increase by 2.1% each year until the end of the agreement. This shirt deal is the most profitable partnership in the history of football. Chevrolet will also provide €28 million for the period 2012-2014.

Joel Ewanick was dismissed from General Motors in July 2012, shortly after the announcement of the partnership. Although the company said he had "failed to meet the expectations of the company," the record amount of the contract signed with MU is the determining factor in that decision, according to the former marketing director of the group.
