ESPN Brasil acquires league highlights package with Globosat

The sports channel ESPN Brasil, a subsidiary of the American group ESPN, has acquired the broadcasting rights to screen highlights of the 2013 league season (Campeonato Brasileirão), Brazil's first division, with Globosat, announced the local press, on the 15/10/2013. Globosat is the official broadcaster of the Brazilian championship in Brazil.

A few minutes after the final whistle of each meeting of the Brasileirão, ESPN Brasil will broadcast the match highlights. "This acquisition is within our strategy guided by four well-defined pillars: journalism, debates, films and big events. With this new content we have further strengthened our journalism and are investing increasingly more in football", said German Hartenstein, Managing Director of ESPN Brasil.

"Sports fans already recognise the quality of our information and now have access to more content and robust programming. We have the rights to broadcast the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and the Brazilian Cup (U20 and U17). Next year, we will broadcast all the matches of the World Cup, with excellent coverage and the same quality…
