Jupiler Pro League: agreement between RSC Anderlecht and Marc Coucke, future owner of the club

Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht (Jupiler Pro League) have reached an agreement with Marc Coucke, president and CEO of Omega-Pharma (Belgian pharmaceutical company), for the purchase of the majority of the share capital, announced the Belgian club on 20/12/2017.

"The board of directors has studied all received offers. After this examination, they have unanimously decided to negotiate exclusively with Mr. Marc Coucke. This agreement includes that a number of shareholders will remain to secure the club’s anchoring. The goal is to conclude negotiations before the end of the year," added the club located West of Brussels (BEL).

Marc Coucke, former minority shareholder of LOSC Lille (Ligue 1 Conforama), is currently president of KV Oostende, another Jupiler Pro League club. Pro League rules prohibit the same shareholder to own two professional clubs, therefore, Marc Coucke must first sell the KV Oostende to allow his majority stake in the RSC Anderlecht. Marc Coucke's investment is estimated at €80m for a buyout of 70% of the club's shares, according to Belgian media.
