Solomon Islands: FIFA installs a "normalisation committee" at the head of the Federation

FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) and OFC (Oceania Football Confederation) have established a standards committee to restore proper organisation within the SIFF (Solomon Islands Football Federation), announced the Federation, on the 15/10/2013.

The interim management team, headed by Australian Ian Shaw, is to consolidate the football activities and ensure their growth, particularly in the area of women's football, in the country of 600,000 inhabitants which has been independent since 1978 and is located north-east of Australia. The team, who are in place form the 15/10/2013 to 31/12/2014, will establish an election process to find a successor.

"For one reason or another the former administration, for the amount of activities they’re involved in both internationally and domestically, weren’t able to fund everything," said Tai Nicholas, OFC General Secretary.
