Facebook: 249.4 million fans in total for the 20 Premier League clubs (January 2018)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2017-18 Premier League season have a cumulative 249.4 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/01/2018. This total makes the Premier League the most popular European Top 5 league on Facebook, with more than 12.5 million fans on average per club.

Manchester City saw the best growth in value and percentage of a Premier League club in December 2017 with over 1 million additional fans (+3.6%), bringing the club's total to more than 29 million fans (5th highest Premier League total).

Manchester United remain the most followed English club with nearly 73.7 million fans (-0.1%). Chelsea FC, the reigning British champions, are second in the ranking with over 47.8 million fans. Fourteen clubs in the English league have more than 1 million fans, a record in the Top 5 European leagues.
