National cups: first division clubs take part in England and France

First division clubs in England and France will be the only clubs in the European Top 5 leagues to play a national cup match on the weekend of 05 to 08/01/2018. The Premier League clubs will take part in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup from 05 to 08/01/2018 and the Ligue 1 Conforama clubs will take part in the round of 32 of the 2017-18 Coupe de France, played from 06 to 08/01/2018.

The Liverpool FC (Premier League) - Everton FC (Premier League) derby will be the first match of the third round of the Emirates FA Cup and the first broadcast on BBC One, on Friday 05/01/2017 (kick-off at 19:55 local time). Three other games will be broadcast by the British public TV group, the BBC. The pay-TV group BT Sport will broadcast three or more matches over the weekend.

Seven of the elite French clubs will have matches broadcast on France 3, via a multiplex of the five games on Sunday, 07/01/2018, from 14:15 CET: Olympique de Marseille, AS Monaco, Dijon FCO, Strasbourg Alsace RC, Angers SCO, Girondins de Bordeaux and AS Saint-Etienne.
