Facebook: 235.6 million fans in total for the 20 LaLiga Santander clubs (January 2018)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2017-18 LaLiga Santander season have a cumulative 235.6 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/01/2018. This makes LaLiga Santander the second most popular Top 5 league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, with an average of 11.8 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF, winners of the 2017 Club World Cup (1-0 victory in the final against the Brazilian club Gremio Porto Alegre on 16/12/2017), are the most followed Spanish club with more than 106 million fans on Facebook, and also achieved the best growth with an additional 298,318 fans in the month of December 2017.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF together total more than 209.7 million fans, more than 89% of the total fans of the clubs of LaLiga Santander, and more than the 58 clubs of the Serie A TIM, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 Conforama combined.

With 1.6% additional fans (+865 "likes"), CD Leganés are the club which recorded the best percentage growth on Facebook in December 2017.
