LaLiga Santander: turnover of €71.2m and net profit of €2.75m for Málaga CF in 2016-17

Málaga CF (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover of €71.2m in the 2016-17 fiscal year (from 01/07/2016 to 30/06/2017), up 37% compared to 2016 (€51.9m), and a net profit of €2.75m (versus €19.82m in 2016), announced the club at the general meeting of its shareholders on 28/12/2017.

Málaga CF recorded a profit for the third consecutive year, "a significant fact because during the 2016-17 season, the club did not sell any players, knowing that the accounts do not include transfers during the summer 2017 which took place after June 30," indicated the club.

"The playing squad included a significant investment of €15m in reinforcements in 2016-17, and thus an increase in the payroll from €28.3m to €34.6m, which corresponds to a trend for all LaLiga clubs, caused by the increase in TV rights. The Estadio La Rosaleda (30,044 capacity) also benefited from an investment of €1.9m, which allowed for the transformation of the seats, the changing of two billboards, the renewal of the pitch, dressing rooms, and the entry tunnel of the players," added Málaga CF.
