England: FA launch initiatives and investments for 2018, including £50m for women's football

"We have today announced a series of new initiatives and investments which will have a significant impact, both on the FA itself, and for all of English football," announced the FA on 09/01/2018. The monetary amount to be allocated to these endeavors, which will go "directly back into football", will total £180m (€203m) per year, compared to £123m (€139m)in 2017, +46%) per year, according to the FA. Included in these initiatives is £50m (€56.5m) dedicated specifically for women's and girl's football programmes.

"We will increase our investment in the women’s game. Over the next six seasons, an additional £50m (€56.5m) will be invested into women and girl’s football taking the total investment from the 2018-19 season onwards to £114m (€129m)," said the Football Association.
