Nike to provide Cristiano Ronaldo with special boots for Barca-Real El Clasico

American sports equipment company, Nike, have launched a new pair of boots, Nike Mercurial CR7 IX, especially for Cristiano Ronaldo, on the 22/10/2013. The Portuguese Real Madrid striker will wear them for the first time the El Clasico match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid on the 26/10/2013 at Camp Nou (kick-off at 18:00 CEST).

Nike are producing the "supernova" version, available in the Galactico series. "One commentator asked: "Is Ronaldo from this planet?!" When we got back to the design studio we got to thinking about Ronaldo’s style and how similar it was to the definition of a supernova - a celestial body that radiates energy - and that was it, we had our inspiration", said Denis Dekovic, Nike Football Design Director.
