eSports: Hertha BSC (Bundesliga) launches its own academy for the FIFA video game

"Hertha BSC will become the first Bundesliga club to form their own eSports Academy, aiming to discover and develop the best FIFA eSport talents in the region," announced the Berlin club on 24/12/2017.

This project will implemented by Hertha BSC in partnership with the health insurance fund AOK Nordost, a partner of the club since 2012-13 and shirt sponsor of its youth teams since 2016-17, in cooperation with the marketing agency Stark eSports Gmbh.

"Hertha BSC continues in its attempt to be at the head of innovation in connection with the digital transformation of the club by becoming the first club in Germany’s top division to found its own academy for the development and education of Talent in the field of eSports. The new year will see tournaments and scouting events take place in Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommen, in an attempt to find the most talented EA Sports FIFA players around. The competition will be open to all those in the region aged between 12 and 18," added the German club.
