Italy: Lega Serie A postpones decision regarding the election of a FIGC president to 12/01/2018

The General Assembly of the Lega Serie A unanimously decided to postpone its decision about the election of the president of the FIGC, scheduled for 29/01/2018, to Friday 12/01/2018, announced the Italian league 10/01/2018.

In view of this election and also considering a possible candidacy from the Lega Serie A, the assembly created a committee of four members:
• Beppe Marotta, general manager of Juventus
• Urbano Cairo, president of Torino FC
• Claudio Lotito, president of SS Lazio
• Marco Fassone, CEO of AC Milan

The mission of this committee is to meet with representatives of the other components of the Federal Council in the Italian Federation "to deepen the proposals of the League and the most important themes for growth and the development of Italian football," said the Lega Serie A on 10/01/2018. After these meetings, the General Assembly will meet on 12/01/2018 at 16:00 to either designate its own candidate, or decide to support another one, during the election of the next president of the Italian Football Federation.
