Real Madrid: Audi in the running for Santiago Bernabeu naming rights

The German automaker Audi are in the running for the naming rights of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium (85,000 seats), according to the Madrid daily newspaper AS on the 22/10/2013. The stadium would then be called "Santiago Bernabeu Audi" or "Audi Santiago Bernabeu."

"We are working to find a sponsor for the stadium. We are at work, we want to add a partner to the existing name", said Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, on the 15/10/2013. The Santiago Bernabeu has been the home of Real Madrid since 1947.

Selling the naming rights would help fund the renovation of the Bernabeu stadium. Upgrades will cost between €300 and €400 million. According to AS, Real Madrid want €50 million per year to add a sponsors name to the existing name.
