UEFA: Michel Platini welcomes the European Parliament resolution against match-fixing

UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) has welcomed the resolution of the European Parliament in the fight against organised crime, corruption and money laundering, approved on the 23/10/2013.

"In particular, UEFA is delighted that the European Parliament reiterated the importance of criminalising match-fixing without delay, and to make it a specific criminal offence, as is already the case in Bulgaria, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal", announced the European body.

"We need more than ever the support of public authorities in the fight we conduct tirelessly against the scourge of match-fixing," said Michel Platini, President of UEFA.
