IOC: President Thomas Bach appoints Jochen Faerber as executive assistant

The German Jochen Faerber has been appointed head of executive office by Thomas Bach, the new president of the IOC (International Olympic Committee), on the 18/10/2013. He will officially take office on the 01/12/2013.

Jochen Faerber has already worked with Bach, in particular on Munich's unsuccessful bid for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (awarded to Pyeongchang, South Korea). Faerber was the main spokesman for the bid committee which was led by Thomas Bach.

The new executive assistant of the IOC President was responsible for media in the Atlanta Olympics (1996), Sydney (2000) and Athens (2004).
