Lega Serie A: Ordinary Assembly for the attribution of TV rights for 2018-2021, on 22/01/2018

The 20 Serie A TIM clubs will convene at the Ordinary Assembly in Milan (ITA), for the attribution of the TV rights to the Lega Serie A for the 2018-2021 period, on Monday 22/01/2018 at 13:00 CET (the deadline for the submission of bids). The Lega Serie A had issued two separate tenders regarding the allocation of its audiovisual rights over the 2018-2021 period, on Saturday 06/01/2018.

The two tenders correspond to the initial five lots put back into play by the Lega Serie A. While the floor price of the five lots is almost the same (€990m per year for the 2018 tender, against €1bn earlier for the initial tender of June 2017), the lots have been modified by the Lega Serie A (see details below). The rights to Lots A, B, and C can not be assigned to a single operator.

The Italian league also has an tender for an independent intermediary for all Serie A matches, which will come into play if the first tender (for audiovisual groups) fails. The Qatar International Bank (International Bank of Qatar) may have proposed €13bn over 10 years for this tender, according to Italian media on…
