75% Tax: UCPF vote for a weekend without football in Ligue 1 and 2 from the 29/11 to the 02/12/2013

"There will be a month of coming together and talking, and a weekend without Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. This is a historic decision," said Jean-Pierre Louvel, president UCPF (Union of Professional Football Clubs) at the end of the General Assembly of the Union of French professional clubs, which was held on the 24/10/2013 about the "tax on high incomes and the future of French professional football".

The weekend in question is that of the 29/11 to the 02/12/2013, which involves the 15th match-day of Ligue 1 and the 16th match-day of Ligue 2. "We decided to go on strike in a month, so as not to interfere with the preparation of the French national team (who plays Ukraine on the 15 and 19/11/2013 in the 2014 World Cup play-offs.) Each club will open their doors this weekend to welcome the public. Managers, coaches and players will all be mobilised", said Jean-Pierre Louvel.
