2017-18 Copa del Rey: Mediaset España acquires rights to co-broadcast six matches

The Mediaset España group has acquired the rights for the co-broadcast of six matches (a quarter-final first leg, a quarter-final second leg; and four matches in the semi-finals, first and second legs) for its free-TV channel Telecinco of the 2017-18 Copa del Rey on 15/01/2018. The matches will be co-broadcast on the free-TV channel Gol (Mediapro).

The first match, CD Leganés (LaLiga Santander) - Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander), quarter-final first leg of the 2017-18 Copa del Rey (0-1), drew 3.676 million viewers on Telecinco (audience share: 19.2%), and 1.105 million on Gol (audience share: 5.8%), on Thursday 18/01/2018, (kick-off at 21:30 CET), according to data from the audience measurement institute Kantar Media.

The results put Telecinco at the top of the Spanish television market, and Gol at the top of the Spanish DTT-TV market for the entire day on 18/01/2018.
