Nations League: France and Germany in Group 1 and England and Spain in Group 4 of League A

Kazakhstan - Georgia (League D, Group 1) will be the very first match of the Nations League, on Thursday 06/09/2018 (kick-off at 16:00 CET), following the draw of the new competition held by UEFA in Lausanne (SUI) on 24/01/2018. On the same day Germany will play France in Group 1 of League A (kick-off at 20:45). England will play Spain, in Group 4 of League A, in their first Nations League match on Saturday 08/09/2019 at 20:45 CET. 

"While the UEFA Nations League will replace most friendly internationals, there will still be space in the calendar for friendlies, especially for top teams who may want to face opposition from outside Europe as they will be in groups of three teams," said UEFA on 11/10/2017.

The top four teams in the groups of League A will qualify for the Nations League finals, scheduled from 05 to 09/06/2019. Other teams will play to be promoted or relegated, or to qualify for Euro 2020, according to UEFA on 17/01/2018.
