Formula 1: Sky Italia acquires exclusive rights in Italy, four Grand Prix for free-TV channel TV8

Sky Italia, a subsidiary of the telecommunications and pay-TV group Sky, has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights of the Formula 1 World Championship, in Italy, for a period of three years (2018-2020) on 25/01/2018. Sky Italia will co-broadcast the Formula 1 with the public broadcasting group Rai in Italy during the 2017 season. Rai retains the rights to the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix, which must be broadcast on free television (see below).

"Starting in March 2018, Sky will broadcast all Grand Prix live and exclusively on all available platforms (pay-TV, streaming on Now TV, and via the Sky Go mobile platform.) The Sky Sport F1 HD pay-TV channel will broadcast the 21 Grand Prix of each season, four Grand Prix (including the Italian Grand Prix) will also be broadcast free-to-air on the free-TV channel TV8, which will broadcast other races on delay," said Sky Italia.

  • The 2018 Formula 1 season begins with the Australian Grand Prix on 25/03/2018 and ends with Abu Dhabi on 25/11/2018.
