France: Ligue 1 clubs to "engage in the process of creating a development company" for the league

"Meeting in a seminar, the clubs of Ligue 1 unanimously decided (16 clubs present), Amiens, Bordeaux, Dijon, Guingamp, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Metz, Monaco, Nantes, Nice, PSG, Rennes, Saint-Etienne, Strasbourg, and Toulouse (Angers, Caen, Montpellier, and Troyes were excused absences) to initiate the process of creating a development company of whom the Ligue 1 clubs would be shareholders, and for the reunification between the Première Ligue (primarily Ligue 1 clubs) and UCPF (inclusive of all French professional clubs) unions. The steering committee is in charge of establishing a timetable and the modalities of implementation of these two decisions," indicated these clubs at the end of their meeting in Paris (FRA) on 01/02/2018.

"The Professional Football League (French LFP) can not continue to manage the commercial activities in an associative model.
