FIGC: Roberto Fabbricini is appointed extraordinary commissioner after failure to elect a president

The president of CONI, Giovanni Malagò, has appointed Roberto Fabbricini, the secretary general of the Italian Olympic Committee, as the extraordinary commissioner of the FIGC for a period of six months, with Alessandro Costacurta and Angelo Clarizia as vice commissioners. The national council of the CONI approved these nominations unanimously, announced the Italian Olympic Committee, after a meeting at Foro Italico (University) in Rome (ITA), on 01/02/2018.

The national council of the CONI said it took note of the Italian Football Federation's situation by deciding to appoint a commissioner. The FIGC's elective federal assembly failed to elect a president despite four rounds of voting on 29/01/2018.
