eSports: partnership between 1. FC Köln (Bundesliga) and SK Gaming (professional eSports club)

1. FC Köln (Bundesliga) have entered into a partnership with SK Gaming, a professional eSports club, announced the German club on 30/01/2018.

As part of this exchange of know-how ("without financial compensation" according to sponsors.de), the German club will help SK Gaming in the fields of sports, fitness, and nutrition. SK Gaming will advise FC Köln on the eSports market and assist Mirza Jahic (Playstation) and Timo "Praii" Gruneisen (X-Box), two professional players on the FIFA game, in participating in the "Virtual Tag Heuer Bundesliga". FC Köln and SK Gaming will also develop specific content and organise events to educate teenagers and parents about video games.

"With the FIFA game, which appeals to many football fans and our professional players, we have a understanding factor related to football, which is very important for such a partnership," said Alexander Wehrle, CEO of FC Köln.
