Netherlands: Ziggo (free and pay-TV) extends TV rights to the Champions League (2018-2021)

Ziggo, the Dutch branch of the US telecommunications group Liberty Global, has extended its rights to broadcast the UEFA Champions League in the Netherlands, for the 2018-2021 period, confirmed UEFA on 31/01/2018.

One match per day of the competition, in the new 19:00 slot, shall be broadcast on the free-TV channel Ziggo Sport. The other matches are to be broadcast on the pay-TV channels of the Ziggo Sport Totaal offer, reported Dutch media on 21/12/2017.

  • UEFA Union of European Football Associations launched the call for tenders for media rights in the Netherlands, of the Champions League and Europa League, for the 2018-2021 period on 31/10/2017.
    • Candidates had to submit their offers by 27/11/2017 at the latest.
