Facebook: 73 million fans in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (February 2018)

The 18 clubs in the 2017-18 Bundesliga season have over 73 million cumulative fans on the social network Facebook, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/02/2018. The Bundesliga is the fourth most popular Top 5 European league on Facebook, behind the Premier League, LaLiga Santander, and the Serie A TIM, with an average of over 4 million fans per club.

FC Bayern Munich is the most-liked German club, with more than 43.9 million fans, and had the best growth in absolute value with +298,617 additional fans in January 2018.

With a 0.8% increase in the number of fans, VfL Wolfsburg and RB Leipzig are the Bundesliga clubs with the best percentage growth rates on Facebook in the past month.

Six out of 18 clubs recorded a drop in their number of fans compared to on 01/01/2018. This drop can be explained by a "cleanup" operated by Facebook, which removes the "likes" given by "bots" (robots) or by inactive or even deactivated accounts.
