Brazil 2014: "The 12 stadiums will be delivered on time" (Aldo Rebelo, Brazilian Sports Minister)

"We are confident that we will deliver the stadiums on time. We are not far behind," announced Aldo Rebelo, Brazilian Sports Minister, in Sao Paulo, on 28/10/2013. Of the 12 stadiums of the XX World Cup (12/06 - 07/13/2014), six were tested during the Confederations Cup (15 to 30/06/2013), the other six must be delivered by no later than the 31/12/2013.

Mr. Rebelo said that some transport infrastructure, which will not be ready for the competition will be delivered shortly after the 2014 World Cup. This is particularly the case for the city of Manaus (capital of the state of Amazonas): "The case of Manaus is an exception", he said.

Discussing security for the XX World Cup, the Minister said that there will probably be no mass protests like those that disrupted the Confederations Cup (15/06 - 30/06/2013): "When national teams and tourists begin to arrive in Brazil, the mood will be to party and not to dispute".
