Media: Randy Freer is new president and COO of Fox Networks Group

Randy Freer has been appointed president and COO of Fox Networks Group, the 28/10/2013. The American will be responsible for Fox Sports, Fox Broadcasting Company, FX Networks, Fox International Channels and National Geographic Channels. He will now oversee revenue, distribution and operations, in addition to his current role in the acquisition of sports rights.

Eric Schrank, who has co-chaired Fox Sports Media Group with Randy Freer since the 11/02/2011, will now be solely responsible for the operation of the group. The two leaders are under the direction of Peter Rice, president and CEO of Fox Networks Group.

"Randy is an outstanding executive and having played a key role in growing our powerhouse television sports business, he brings impressive skills as both an operator and builder of businesses", said Peter Rice, on the 28/10/2013. "He will be a key partner for me in overseeing and driving continued growth of our global channels business which spans nearly 400 channels in 200 countries".
