ESPN+, a sports OTT platform, will be launched in the spring of 2018 at a monthly rate of $4.99 (€4), announced Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, the parent company of the US sports pay-TV group ESPN, on 06/02/2018. The American entertainment and media group announced the imminent creation of an OTT platform dedicated to sport on 07/08/2017.

ESPN+ "will offer a robust array of sports programming, featuring approximately 10,000 live regional, national, and international games and events a year, including Major League Baseball, National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, Grand Slam tennis, and college sports. Individual sport packages will also be available for purchase, including MLB.TV, NHL.TV, and MLS Live. The new service will be accessed through an enhanced version of the current ESPN app," said the US entertainment group on 07/08/2017. "An array of live programming -- live sports, live sports events -- that is not available on current channels, and that's by the thousands," added Bob Iger, chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company on 06/02/2018.
