Mastercard, an American group specialising in payment solutions, has extended its partnership with the Champions League for the 2018-2021 cycle, announced UEFA on 09/02/2018. The agreement also covers the 2018, 2019, and 2020 editions of the UEFA Super Cup.

"For over 20 years Mastercard has been a supporter of Europe’s premier club competition and has been giving priceless experiences to fans globally. Mastercard will continue to offer children from around the world the opportunity to become player mascots and have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to walk onto the pitch alongside some of the game’s biggest stars before UEFA Champions League matches," said UEFA.

Mastercard is the fourth group to extend its engagement with the Champions League (and the Super Cup) for the 2018-2021 cycle, after Heineken (on 01/02/2017), Nissan (on 11/09/2017), and PepsiCo (on 06/02/2018). Banco Santander joined them, as a new partner of the competition, on 29/11/2017.

The value of each of these partnerships is estimated at more than €40m per season.
