AS Saint-Étienne: agreement with the City for the "full enjoyment" of Geoffroy-Guichard for 12 years

"The Stade Geoffroy-Guichard (42,000 capacity) will be available all year round to 'les Verts', and AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 1 Conforama) will have full enjoyment, but the stadium remains the collective property of the territory (Saint-Étienne Métropole) and all those who made it possible for what AS Saint-Étienne and the Geoffroy-Guichard are today. This agreement will cover 12 years, the maximum duration provided by law," said Gael Perdriau, the Mayor of Saint-Étienne (FRA) and President of Saint-Étienne Métropole, at a press conference held within the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on 09/02/2018.

This new agreement will take effect at the end of the current lease agreement, on 01/07/2018. The current agreement, extended on 12/12/2017, made AS Saint-Étienne the tenant of the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard exclusively on matchdays, for an annual rent -- of which a portion is variable -- of nearly €2.4m to the Saint-Étienne Métropole, the owner of the enclosure, which space dedicated to the club's museum, the ticketing office, and the commercial management.
