Brazilian Edson Arantes do Nascimento, also known as Pelé (three time winner of the World Cup in 1958, 1962 and 1970) has become the new ambassador of the Swiss watchmaker Hublot, announced the brand, on the 29/10/2013.

The former player, born on the 23/10/1940, will participate in media campaigns for the Swiss brand, especially leading up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Hublot is the official timekeeper and official watch of the competition.

"It is an immense honour and privilege to have been chosen by Pelé, the King of Football! When he came to see us with Jean-Claude Biver last year at the Hublot Manufacture in Nyon in Switzerland, there was an immediate connection. His presence and his enthusiasm for his country and the upcoming FIFA World Cup were incredible. We are going to accomplish great things together in Brazil", said Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot.
