EPFL: 2.14 times more spectators on average in the Bundesliga than Ligue 1 (2008-2013)

Bundesliga, the German first division, recorded 2.14 times more spectators on average per game than Ligue 1 (FRA), for the 2008-09 to 2012-13 seasons, according to the first report of the EPFL (European Professional Football Leagues) on fan attendance, published on the 29/10/2013.

With 42,403 spectators per game, the Bundesliga is ahead of the Premier League (35,157), La Liga (25,516), Serie A (23,717) and Ligue 1 (19,834). Two second divisions figure in the European Top 10 list: the English Championship (7^th, 17,773 spectators on average) and 2.Bundesliga (8^th, 15,842). Ligue 2 (FRA) (17^th, 7,650) ranks behind League One, which is the third tier of English football (15^th, 7,954), but before the Spanish Liga Adelante (21^st, 7,085) and Serie B (23^rd, 5,321).
