CSKA Moscow: UEFA orders partial closure of stadium for racist behavior

The Disciplinary Committee of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) has ordered the partial closure of the Arena Khimki, for CSKA Moscow's next home game, on the 30/10/2013. The sector D of the stadium will be closed for the match against Bayern Munich, on the 27/11/2013 (match-day 5 of the group stage of the Champions League, Group D).

The decision follows the racist behavior of Russian fans, who were found guilty of shouting "monkey chants" at midfielder Yaya Toure during the match between CSK Moscow and Manchester City (1-2, match-day 3 of the group stage the Champions League), on the 23/10/2013.

"UEFA has a zero tolerance policy towards racism and discrimination on the pitch and in the stands. All forms of racist behaviour are considered serious offences against the disciplinary regulations and are punished with the most severe sanctions," said the European body.
