Bundesliga Report 2018: €3.37bn in cumulative revenue for the 18 clubs in 2016-17

The 18 Bundesliga clubs posted a record cumulative amount of €3.37bn in revenue in 2016-17, an increase of about 4% compared to 2015-16 (€3.24bn), according to the Bundesliga Report 2018 released by the DFL on 15/02/2018. 14 of the 18 Bundesliga clubs exceeded €100m in revenue, compared to 13 clubs in 2015-16.

When including the accounts of the 18 2.Bundesliga clubs, German professional football (36 clubs) generated a cumulative €4.01bn in revenue (€3.37bn for the Bundesliga, and €635.2m for the 2.Bundesliga). This is the first time the €4m revenue mark has been crossed by German professional football clubs.

The 18 Bundesliga clubs also posted a cumulative €150m in net profit in 2016-17, down from €206.2m in net profit in 2015-16 (a decrease of 27%). As in 2015-16, 16 of the 18 clubs in the German first division (89%) recorded a net profit in 2016-17.
