Champions League: 5.28 million viewers in Italy for Real Madrid - PSG, on free-TV (Canale 5)

The Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) - Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama) first leg match of the 2017-18 Champions League (3-1), drew, an average of 5.284 million viewers on the free-TV channel Canale 5, in Italy, on Wednesday 14/02/2018 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).

The figure was higher than the cumulative TV audience on the pay-TV channel beIN LaLiga in Spain (2.44 million), and beIN Sports 1 in France (2.05 million) put together. The 5.28 million Italian viewers represented an audience share of 20.1% and placed the Mediaset group channel second in the Italian television market for the evening on 14/02/2018. This is the second-highest TV audience figure in Italy for a 2017-18 UEFA Champions League match, after the Manchester City FC - SSC Napoli (2-1) group stage match, played on 17/10/2017.

Mediaset, a free and pay-TV group, broadcasts one match each day of the competition, on one of its free TV channels (Canale 5, Italia 1 and Rete 4), as well as the Champions League final for the 2015-2018 period. The other matches are broadcast on the pay-TV channels of the Mediaset…
