Tennis: Roger Federer (SUI) extends as ambassador for Mercedes-Benz car group

The Swiss tennis player Roger Federer has extended his contract as an ambassador of German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz, on 16/02/2018. The value of the multi-year agreement will be $5m (€4m) per year according to Forbes.

"Since 2008, Mercedes-Benz and Roger Federer have collaborated in press relations events and productions for TV, print and social media, examples include the appearance of Roger Federer in a TV commercial broadcast on Worldwide scale for the 'Class V' model and a Chinese TV ad for the 'M-Class' More recently, for the first Laver Cup (an international men's tennis tournament between two teams: Team Europe and Team World, organised by the Swiss player from 22 to 24/09/2017 in Prague), Federer appeared for the first time with the new Mercedes-Benz pickup truck, the 'X-Class'," said Mercedes-Benz.

The announcement comes after the Swiss recovered the number one spot in the world ATP ranking at the Rotterdam tournament which he won on 18/02/2018.
