LaLiga: Javier Tebas announces the launch of a free multisport OTT platform in August 2018

"LaLiga will launch its own OTT multisport platform in August (2018)," announced Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, in an interview with the Spanish business paper Expansión on 16/02/2018.

The platform, which will be free, will broadcast "In addition to our own content, other sports as long as they have sufficient quality, which will be the key factor beyond the level of audience that each discipline can generate." The plan is to "look for a way to give visibility to those sports that are not broadcast on mainstream TV channels," added Javier Tebas.

Regarding football, via the platform LaLiga will broadcast matches on delay, reports, interviews and could broadcast live LaLiga 1|2|3 games "which will continue without exclusivity unless a very important offer arises," said Tebas.

The launch of the platform is part of the "LaLiga4Sports" project, aiming to highlight the work of 64 Spanish sports federations and the Spanish Paralympic Committee.
