"In Spain, the share of TV rights is a disgrace. Not only for La Liga, but also throughout Europe. Because clubs who face Real or Barca in the Champions League are also disadvantaged," said Joan Collet President of Espanyol (La Liga) on 01/11/2013.

"Real, Barca and the president of the LFP (Spanish Professional Football League), Javier Tebas, do not want to follow the distribution criteria that prevail in other countries. They do not want to lose one euro. But if we could increase the overall fee for rights, only their percentage would drop. It's still shameful that they receive between €130 million and €140 million and 80% of other clubs receive between €20 million and €30 million," said the Catalan boss in L'Equipe newspaper on the 01/11/2013.

"With the distribution system as it exists in England, Real and Barca would receive €60 million less each year! These are great clubs that have won recognition through their history and their titles. But the rest of La Liga loses value because the best players go abroad," said the president of Espanyol.
