Formula 1: launch of the "F1 TV" pay OTT platform in 20 countries in 2018

Formula One Group are to launch "F1 TV", a pay OTT platform, which will be launched "early in the 2018 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season (which begins with the Australian Grand Prix on 25/03/2018)," according to Formula 1 on 27/02/2018.

F1 TV will broadcast, without advertising, live and recorded racing, free practice and Formula 1 Grand Prix qualifying as well as press conferences and pilot interviews. Users will be able to personalise the content by choosing their cameras and view the on-board cameras of the 20 drivers. F1 TV will feature content unavailable on other platforms as well as the live races of the FIA Formula 2 World Championship and other competitions.

"During the season, F1 TV will be made available in four different languages (English, French, German and Spanish) and will appear in nearly two dozen markets at launch (including Germany, France, USA, Mexico, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and much of Latin America)," said Formula 1.

"Pricing for F1 TV Pro will be offered on a monthly basis of $8-$12 (€6.50-€9.80), and annual rates will be priced according to market…
