Liverpool FC: a record turnover of £364m (+20.6%) and net profit of £39m in 2016-17

Liverpool FC (Premier League) achieved a record turnover of £364m (€416.6m on 31/05/2017) for fiscal year 2016-17 (from 01/06/2016 to 31/05/2017), an increase of 20.6% compared to 2015-16 (£301.7m / €396m on 31/05/2016), announced the Merseyside club on 01/03/2018.

Liverpool posted a net profit of £39m (€44.6m) on 31/05/2017. "Over the past seven years, the club has been transformed to a financially stable, sustainable and growing football club since Fenway Sports Group (FSG) took ownership in October 2010," said the Reds.

TV rights revenue (£154m, +£30m compared to 2015-16) were the main driver of Liverpool FC's revenue growth, as the new Premier League cycle ca e into effect for 2016-2019 (€8.34bn of revenue to be shared in total).

The club also saw its commercial revenue increase (£136m, +£20m) due in part to the signing of 12 new partnerships (including Malaysia Airlines, Konami, and Joie). Additionally, matchday revenue also increased (£74m, +£12m) due to an rise in hospitality sales.
