Twitter: 71.9 million followers in total for the 20 Premier League clubs (March 2018)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2017-18 Premier League season have a cumulative total of 71.9 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/03/2018. The Premier League is the most popular European Top 5 league on Twitter with an average of 3.59 million followers per club.

Manchester United, the most-followed English club on Twitter, surpassed 17.5 million followers in February 2018. Tottenham Hotspur (6^th in the ranking) posted the highest percentage growth rate with 3.2% additional followers (+86,540).

In total, the 20 clubs Premier League clubs had a total of 1,579,696 new followers in February 2018, 2.63 times more than the 58 clubs of the Ligue 1 Conforama, Serie A TIM and Bundesliga combined (599,307). The Premier League posted the best percentage growth rate of the European Top 5 leagues with 2.2% more followers (+1,579,696) during the month of February 2018.
