"If possible, we would break every taboo to be able to promote women's football in Africa. We are resolute to not relent our focus," said Ahmad Ahmad, president of CAF at the closing ceremony of the first Women's Football Symposium organised by the African Confederation, in Marrakech (MAR) on 05 and 06/03/2018.

"What you discussed during these two days, the proposals you have made, the resolutions you have retained, will be the subject of a full analysis by the new department of women's football, which has just been installed in our head office," added Ahmad Ahmad.

"A symposium like the one we have just witnessed is not a little affair: It has given us the opportunity to review the very deficient situation of women's football in Africa," said Ahmad Ahmad.

"It is my responsibility to urge the governments of all our African States to commit themselves in this path of close cooperation for the development of African Football," said the CAF president in concluding a speech of which News Tank Football publishes the essentials below.
