Rugby: turnover (€150m) and record profit (€19.6m) for the New Zealand Federation in 2017

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) recorded a record profit of NZ $33.4m (€19.6m) for the 2017 fiscal year, announced on 01/03/2018. The turnover of the New Zealand Rugby Federation amounted to NZ $257m (€150m) versus NZ $162m in 2016. This is mainly due to
"a highly successful DHL New Zealand Lions Series and other commercial growth," said the All Blacks on 01/03/2018.

"The financial windfall from the British & Irish Lions 10-match tour was the driving force behind a record $224m (€131m) investment in the national game. The DHL New Zealand Lions Series generated an incremental profit of $40m (€23.4m) compared to a normal year when the All Blacks play a three-match Steinlager Series. The All Blacks’ global exposure contributed to a 14% growth in sponsorship and licensing including new relationships with Amazon and Apple and the ongoing support of our Principal Partner adidas, and Major Global Sponsor AIG," said NZR.
