Bayern Munich : Uli Hoeness leaves supervisory board of Allianz Germany

The president of Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) Uli Hoeness has left the supervisory board of Allianz Germany, one of the club sponsors, for "personal reasons", announced the insurance company on the 06/11/2013. He informed the president of the board of Allianz Germany, Markus Riess, that he would leave on the 30/11/2013.

Uli Hoeness will stand trial in March 2014 for tax evasion. The first court hearing in Munich will be held on 10/03/2014. The German leader was indicted for tax evasion and released on bail on the 20/03/2013. He admitted to tax authorities in January 2013, that he had a Swiss bank account which held several million euro, on which he had not paid tax on interest gained.

The Allianz Group, which owns the naming rights to Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena stadium (€6 million per year for the period 2005-2035), is one of the four main club partners, along with Deutsche Telekom, Adidas and Audi.
