FIGC: the Italian Federation celebrates 120 years with various events until 12/11/2018

The FIGC have decided to celebrate their "120 years since 15/03/1898, the day that the committee that would give birth to the Italian Federation (on 26/03/1898), in Turin (ITA), was created. To celebrate the FIGC has arranged "an eight-month long trip, from 15/03 to 12/11/2018, with a multitude of events (including 'Football for all' in 22 cities throughout the country on 17 and 18/03/2018)," said the Italian federation on 14/03/2018.

The FIGC has 1.3 million licensees, 70,000 teams, 17,000 pitches and around 600,000 matches per year (65% of which are in the youth categories). The FIGC has 19 national men and women's football teams including 5-a-side and beach soccer teams.

"We are celebrating 120 years which are also the story of our country. The FIGC is an image of passion and profound love. We want to honor this renewed love for football, despite Italy's unfortunate absence at the next World Cup," said Roberto Fabbricini, extraordinary commissioner of the federation since 01/02/2018.
