eSport: Cagliari Calcio (Serie A) launches team by recruiting a professional FIFA 18 player

Cagliari Calcio (Serie A TIM) have launched into eSports, in partnership with InFerno, a company specialised in eSports, by recruiting the professional player Girolamo "GoldenBoy92" Giordano, 26, on 14/03/2018. "He will represent Cagliari in tournaments, physical events and online on the FIFA 18 video game," announced the club. 

The player's presentation ended with a series of online exhibition matches between Cagliari, Empoli and Besiktas. Cagliari made its official eSports debut on 16/03/2018, by participating in the "Empoli eSports Cup" with Empoli Calcio (Serie B Conte.It), PSV Eindhoven (Eredivisie) and Team Gullit.
