Brazil 2014: "For the stadiums, deadlines will be met" (Aldo Rebelo, Brazilian Sports Minister)

"The deadlines for the 2014 World Cup will be met. Six stadiums have already been delivered, the other six will be delivered before the 31/12/2013," said Aldo Rebelo, Brazilian sports minister in Paris on the 07/11/2013.

The minister was invited by the Brazilian embassy in France to speak about the 2014 World Cup, which will be held in Brazil from the 12/06 to 13/07/2014. Aldo Rebelo took advantage of his visit to France to establish cooperation agreements with Valerie Fourneyron, the French minister of sports, youth, popular education and community life in several areas: the fight against doping and match fixing, and technical cooperation, particularly between French and Brazilian handball and volleyball federations.

Asked about security in his country during the 2014 World Cup, Aldo Rebelo said "airports, train stations and subway stations are safer in Brazil than in Europe or the United States, the statistics prove it. We are facing a problem of common crime. We are making a lot of effort to ensure the safety of Brazilian and foreign tourists, sports delegations, but also our own…
